The Temple in Jerusalem is Completed

Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily. And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. Ezra 6:13-15

Steps: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

The people of the land of Canaan tried to stop the building of the temple by complaining to the reigning king of Persia – Darius. After checking the books Darius concluded that he should bless the building of the temple in Israel and he decreed that it should be built. Finally the people of God cooperated with Him and the Temple was completed in 515 BC. This was a cause of great rejoicing at the providences of God.

Prayer for Today: God, You know how difficult it is for us to build things for You. Help us to remember Israel of old and all of the struggles that they went through, their fears, their doubts, their hesitancies. Yet, in the middle of all this crisis and confusion You still got the job done. You are amazing to us that You can get so much done with such a rag tag group of people. Yet we acknowledge that we are no better than them. Help us to grow up in You and give us strength and courage to accomplish the things You have appointed for us to do. Help us to play our role, whether small or great, in Your great plans for this Earth. Thank You for allowing us to participate in this with You.
