Jesus Taught Anywhere and Any Time

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Luke 5:1-3

Where ever Jesus went one of the things He wanted to do is to teach the people about His Father in heaven. He wanted them to know what a wonderful and loving God He was. Jesus often healed before He taught because it is difficult for people to learn the details of the things of God if they are in pain and suffering. So healing and teaching often went together in the recovery ministry of God. In the above Scripture Jesus went out into a boat so that people could see Him and hear Him better than if He stood on the shore and was pressed about by the people. This was His ministry and it is ours as well to share our experience, strength, and hope with as many people as possible. Matthew 28:19-20


Prayer for Today: God we pray that today You will send us someone to teach us what we need to do to be in harmony with You, Your law, and Your recovery. When that someone shows up we also pray that we will recognize that person by what they say and by what they live. Thank You for being concerned enough about us that You prepare people to speak the truths about recovery to us. Thank You for Your mercies and for Your grace.
