And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Exodus 16:1-3

Israel is delivered from Egypt by the signs and wonders displayed by God. They go through the Red Sea and see their enemies destroyed by the waters. Yet as soon as they don’t have immediate food and water they start to complain. They even go so far as to wish that they had died in Egypt rather than to be delivered from slavery. What a tragedy that God’s people, even when delivered from addictions and crisis issues will often complain and want to go back to their addictive lifestyles. What a testimony to God. Yet He did not give up on them but continued to reveal His power in their behalf. In Exodus 16 God grants several gifts, including Manna and the Sabbath – feed and rest, just what Israel needs to get recomposed.
Prayer for Today: Thank You again that You do not give up on us. Forgive us for giving up on You. Help us to be able to see that You are always with us and always looking for ways to help us. Help us to grasp Your love for us and we pray that our hearts will open to You.
