Kicked Out of Home

And the Lord God said, Behold the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever; therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed at the East of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword, which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Genesis 3:22-24

Steps 1, 2, 3

God knew that Adam and Eve had gained a knowledge of life that would make them more dangerous and sick. God chose to have Adam and Eve leave their perfect home and to begin to experience life in the outside world with all of its difficulties and struggles. Yet God preserved Eden and blocked the gate that mankind could not come back into the Garden, and partake of the tree of life until a future time. Yet the very fact of God putting a guard at the one gate gave assurance that the way was to be maintained by the angels. The doorway will always be open to those who want to come back to the original way of life that was ordained by God. God promises to create a new earth where addiction will not longer be able to harm us in any way. This will happen at the return of Jesus at the end of the 1000 years of the Millennium. Revelation 21:1

Prayer for Today: Thank You for keeping the way back to You open and clear. We know that we do not deserve to come back yet You have promised to make a new heaven and a new earth in the future so that we can return to Your original plan. It makes us sad that we have caused all of this chaos and confusion, yet in your power you can restore all things to their original plan and intent. We trust you to help us while we are on the outside looking in. Grant us the gift of Your deliverance, for we choose to participate in Your plans for us.
