A Partial Solution

And the eyes of them both wee opened and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Genesis 3:7

Steps 1, 2, 11

Adam and Eve now know that something has changed. They are aware that however they felt before eating the fruit (using your drug or activity of choice in rebelling against what God has clearly told you not to do) they now feel different. They now feel the need to have something cover them and so they decide to take care of the loss by doing something. In this case they decide to make clothing of fig leaves. They apparently do this to cover their nakedness. Somehow they feel that if they have a covering, often times seen as an excuse or alibi, then they can face God and not be embarrassed. They decide to work on the principle of God helps those who help themselves. They rebelled and they will pick up the pieces. I would imagine that they also thought that they would be able to come in front of God and show Him what a good job they had done. They had made a little mistake and they have taken care of the problem. It seems that this kind of thinking is very common with us. We caused the problem and we will take care of the situation. It appears that when ever we do this the problem just gets bigger and more difficult to manage.

Prayer for Today: Oh God here we are again. We have made a mess and we have tried to clean it up and yet no matter how much energy we put into it it seems to get worse. Please help us see the problem the way it is and then give us the process in which it can be changed. We have been over this ground enough to know that with out you to help us it will just grow worse. Thanks for your help.
