The Death of Abraham

And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. Genesis 25:5-8

Steps: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12

God granted Abraham many years of productive life. He was 175 when he died. He lived to see his son married and settled. Abraham also had the blessing of giving a lot of money to be sure that his son was settled. Abraham also was able to get everything settled with Ishmael and the sons from his wife Keturah, whom he married after the death of Sarah. When everything was cared for then Abraham, the friend of God, died and was buried. God had blessed His friend in many ways.

Prayer for Today: God, You were wonderful in Your relationship with Abraham. We pray that we can believe that as You treated Abraham is how You want to relate to us. Help us to hold on to that idea as Abraham held on to the idea of what You wanted to do for Abraham’s children. Thank You for Your tender mercies toward us. Help us not to turn away from You.
