Isaac’s Faith in Abraham and in God

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. Genesis 22:9

Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12

Isaac hears the plan that Abraham presented to him. Isaac had not heard the voice of God but he trusted that his father Abraham had heard the voice of God. Isaac was so surrendered to God that the message to Abraham from God was accounted by Isaac as the voice of God to him. He heard he trusted, and he allowed Abraham to bind him and place him on the altar and was prepared to be offered up as a sacrifice. Isaac fully trusted God and fully trusted his father with his life.

Prayer for Today: God we thank You that You have not asked us to sacrifice our children like Abraham did. You know that we have offered ourselves up on heathen altars of drugs, sex, violence, money, relationships, gambling, and business. We have not always known what we were doing, but have often known that we were doing wrong things for wrong reasons. We ask again that You will forgive us for our thoughts and actions and restore us unto You. Help us to trust You so that we will not do these things again.
