The Most Difficult Experience for Abraham

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. Genesis 22:1-4

Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12

God now allowed Abraham to go through an experience more difficult than anything that any man had gone through before. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, who had been given to Abraham by God Himself. Abraham immediately made arrangements to go to the place that God had informed him of and he arrived there on the third day. Abraham did not allow himself to doubt regarding whether the voice that had spoken to him was God or not. He had had heard that voice many times and recognized clearly that it was God, and he obeyed immediately. Abraham trusted God and although he did not understand everything He knew that whatever happened God knew what He was doing.

Prayer for Today: God, it is amazing that You would ask this of Your friend
Abraham. We have difficulty understanding what You were doing yet we know that Abraham obeyed and You blessed Him. Help us that when it is our turn we will trust You like Abraham did. Thank You for allowing us the opportunity of seeing You interactions with Abraham. Thank You that You will be us when our times of crisis come.
