The Death of Sarah

And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these ere the years of the life of Sarah. And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebreon in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mour for Sarah, and to weep for her. Genesis 23:1-2

To all comes our time of death. God allowed Sarah to live to a ripe old age of 127. She had the experience of having her son Isaac by faith and she saw him grow up. She had done her part in developing her son and now she could rest in the full trust that God would be able to watch over her son. Now Abraham would weep over her, complete her burial, and see to the final details of his son Isaac.

Prayer for Today: Praise God for His watchcare and love. He watches over us and even when we make mistakes, and doubt His power, He still cares for us. Sarah died trusting in the care of God. We too can die in His care and trust our loved ones to His care as well. Today, Lord, give us the courage to trust in You.
