God Reveals His Theology Through Joseph

Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45:5-8

Steps: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12

Now that Joseph has revealed himself to his brothers he recognizes that they are afraid as to whether Joseph will take this opportunity to kill them as they at one time wanted to kill him. But Joseph tells them the truth about God that He wanted to send Joseph ahead of his brothers to save them, not to harm them. This is how God wins hearts and minds, by revealing to people not only how much He loves them but to reveal all the things He has done to preserve them even though they have mistreated Him. God is love.

Prayer for Today: God, we know that we have mistreated You and Your children. Again we ask for forgiveness. Please help us to respond positively to Your love and not try to take advantage of You in any way. Help us to believe that You would go through all of the work that You did with Joseph to win the hearts of his brothers, and You would do that
