Joseph and Jacob Meet

Late Entry for 5/23/10

And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. Genesis 46:28-30

Now that Jacob knows the will of God, he sets out to implement it before he can talk himself out of it. He meets Joseph and the two of them fell on each others’ necks and weep a good while. Jacob’s prayers have been answered in a way that he could not have known and he is blessed by the prosperity of his son Joseph. Jacob is content in the hands of God.

Prayer for Today: Help us to trust You oh God. You know the end from the beginning and all Your ways are blessings to us. Help us not to leave You and go on our own. Help us to trust You and obey You as well. Thank You Lord.
