Joseph is Thrown Into Prison – Even Though Innocent

And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled. And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison. But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper. Genesis 39:19-23

Steps: 4, 5, 11, 12

Joseph, by staying true to God, is delivered from Potipher, and from his wife. He was thrown into the prison where the king’s prisoners were sent, not to the common prison. Joseph, in the providence of God was sent to the right place to accomplish God’s plans. God blessed Joseph and all things were given to Joseph because he was a natural leader, and organizer, as well as an interpreter of dreams. God had him set up to be ready for the next part of the plan.

Prayer for Today: Thank You God that You would allow Joseph to be sent to a special place to accomplish Your plans with Him. Help us to gain faith that as You would watch over Joseph You are implying that You would watch over us as well. No matter what the problem, help us to trust You that You have a plan for us and that Your plans will always be a blessing to us no matter what happens to us.
